His vast experience and success working in boat yards, as well as for boat builders, gave him the skills to open his own yacht service management company, Marinaman, LLC, utiliziing his expertise in yacht maintenance, operations and systems.
Cliff’s first offshore adventure was sailing his 27 foot C&C down the Mississippi to the Bahamas. He spent over 5 years in the Caribbean aboard his second boat, a 36’ Hinckley, providing day charters in ultra posh St. Barth’s to a most discriminating clientele. He has sailed the length of the Caribbean Island chain and crossed the Atlantic twice. Like most serious mariners, Cliff dreamed of exploring the vast Pacific Ocean and lived that dream for 6 years, transiting the Panama Canal, sailing to the Philippines and Tahiti and back to Seattle. In recent years, Cliff has skippered charter boats from Grenada to the British Virgin Islands. He has also skippered a Swan 44 in 4 Chicago Mac races.
Cliff has a RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competence for a sailing vessel. The certificate is valid for use as a Master of yachts up to 200 gross tons on commercially and privately registered yachts. It is also valid for commercial use on vessels subject to the codes of practice issued by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).
A WORD FROM THE CAPTAIN:
I have always known that I wanted to sail. All of my experiences have led me to this quest: To provide an exceptional charter sailing vacation with the best – and best equipped – yacht. I have dedicated this last year of my life to procuring and preparing Simple Harmony, a 68 foot Swan to deliver this exceptional experience. It has been a labor of love. The results? Worth every minute.
